Summer Cleaning Series- Part 2- MASTER BEDROOM

Day two was a sucess! I did all the dusting, changed the sheets, cleaned and organized the drawers, and did all the laundry to prepare for tomorrow (bathrooms, closet). Not a whole lot to do in here except the dusting. Gave it a good vacuum too. I didn't take a picture of the other wall because its just a short wall with our TV and the entry to our bathroom which is messy still :o] See you tomorrow for part 3- bathrooms and master closet.

Summer cleaning series- Part 1- KITCHEN

I have been trying really hard lately to be better about keeping up on the deep cleaning. So I decided I need to do it every season rather than just "spring cleaning". So here is a 6 part series of deep cleaning room by room with after pics for those of you who have requested to see my new house.

It took me literally allllll day long, but with a toddler in tow you have to take breaks and play and clean up messes he is making right behind me! Not to mention the 30 min. nap and a break to watch Days of Our Lives :o]. So I did everything from organizing each cabinet and drawer to cleaning out the fridge, mircowave, and mopping. So glad I decided to do the room that requires the most work first to get it out of the way!!

Daddy's home!!

Preston was SO excited to see Daddy this morning after he had been gone at work up north for 6 days. He didn't hear Danny come in and when he saw him around the corner he started laughing his silly little laugh and went running after Danny. It was the cutest thing! So today we filled up his baby pool and let him have some fun splashin around! Here are some adorable pics!

Here are some recent pics of our little man.. Growing up so fast, and getting so smart every day! For some reason, my pics are coming up jibberish letters to me, but when I post them they are fine so I can't really explain each pic. There is one of Mady and I on mother's day in there somewhere.. If anyone knows how to fix this please tell me!!

Baby Product Review

I have been doing really well with saving money by cutting coupons, making menu plans and buying off brands. I wanted to take the time to do a product review on the ODOR GRABBER UNIVERSAL ODORLESS DIAPER PAIL BAGS. For Mommy's who have babies and toddlers that use a diaper pail such as the DIAPER GENIE or CHAMP some stores (I got mine at Wal-Mart) now carry this new system for your diaper pail. Instead of spending $6 on the brand name refill I thought I'd give this one a try since it was on sale for $4.50.

WHAT IT IS: Individual bags for the diaper pail
HOW IT WORKS: comes with plastic ring to hold bag in place at the top

MY OPINION: I liked how thick the bags were. As far as being odor blocking, I would say I only noticed a small difference when compared to the original. I don't know about you guys, but I empty the pail every other day or so and it doesn't fill up the bag so I feel like I wasted an entire bag. Where as with the original, it's one giant bag and you cut it to fit however many diapers you want. For this reason alone, I don't think it was worth saving the 1.50 because in the long run the original refills last me about 4 weeks. These individual bags (10 count) will only last me about 2.5 weeks.

I've been slacking..

I know its been awhile since I have posted a blog, but I haven't spent a whole lot of time on the computer lately and when I have its not for long so I'm finally sitting down to post some recent pics of the little dude.. He is 14 months now and is doing FANTASTIC!! He is really talking a lot.. he says things without being prompted to when he sees them. His big words right now are; Ball (bahh), diaper (bi-bah), bite(bi), bye bye (buh bahhh!), milk (meh), love you (uh oooo) <-- that one is still questionable if he is actually saying it, but he does it in the same tone everytime! He likes to use any and everything as a phone. He will put the remote up to his ear and say "HELLAH! hi." its super cute! He is still a little monkey climbing on everything. I can't believe how big he is getting. And how much he can understand. I can tell him "lets go take a bath" and he will go into his bathroom and stand at the tub! If i tell him to blow his nose or comb his hair and give him a tissue or comb he knows just what to do with it. And if I tell him to give his monkey stuffed animal a hug he does! He is getting to be so much fun. And soooo busy. I really am constantly chasing him around. But its fun! Here are a few pics in the last few weeks..

I'm a HAM!

Skaggs Lately...

Well it has been quite awhile since I've posted an update. We are now in our new house and things are finally coming together. It feels good to not be in "limbo" anymore! Preston has been a busy little bee. He didn't have any trouble at all transitioning to the new house, which was a relief! He loves our new backyard which I take him outside everyday for him to play, run in the grass, and pop bubbles (his new FAV. thing to do!). He is getting way to smart for his own good. And climbing on any and everything he can find (as you will see in the photos). He has finally gotten his two top teeth! They barely poke through, but they are there! He has a few new words that he says on a daily basis, like CRACKER! which i say in all caps because he yells it when he wants one. He goes up to the pantry and bangs on it until I give him food. Which was cute and funny at first, but since he is hungry alllll day long, it gets old! He is learning really quickly. If I ask him to go find "the monkey" he says "OOO OO AHH" and goes up to his monkey toy. Preston loves to go to "gaga's" (grandma rainey and grandpa mikes) and when we pull up to their house he gets out and says "GAGA GAGA"! He also says Bubble when I blow them outside. He has been of his bottle and formula so thats a good money and time saver! He LOVES milk and I had no problems whatsoever getting him to take it from a sippy cup. One morning I actually FORGOT to give him his bottle (I just fed him oatmeal and fruit and we headed out for the day) and that afternoon I realized I had forgotten and decided since he obviously didn't miss it I would just put them away and he cut it cold turkey! What's wrong with this picture?! Oh, I'll tell you. I was unloading the dishwasher and he was sitting in this thing eating CRACKERS and watching Sesame Street like a good little toddler. Then I hear him having all sorts of fun and I look over the island and see THIS. YUP. He climbed out, then got on top and stood up on the tray! Then he proceeded to get back into the seat with his legs all curled up. And I said HAHA good luck getting out now! Well I spoke too soon. He went head first over the side, put his hands and head on the ground (carpet of course) and pushed with his legs and did a somersalt out of this thing! Now its a daily occurance. Precious I tell you.
